Do shareholders have a say?

Shareholders have an effect on companies. Wanting to invest into the Asian market will be a tough decision for Hawick Knitwear. Although Asian markets may be the fastest growing emerging market will all shareholders agree with this decision as each shareholder have their own opinions. Expanding into the Asian can have risks i.e. cultural risks and expanding into a different economy could bring a few surprises to the company that they may not have expected. The shareholders have a little say in the business operation but have a financial stake in its success. Are Hawick Knitwear prepared to lose some of its shareholders?
